The Dawn of the Devil-Worshipping Witch—and How the People of Kilkenny Tried to Stop It! The 2nd of July marks the 700th anniversary of the day that Alice Kyteler was officially condemned as a witch and fled Ireland. This free talk by Maeve Callan (The Templars, the Witch and the Wild Irish) explores how the 1324 trial of Alice Kyteler provided the foundation for future European witch trials.
