Press Release - Children’s Book Festival 2025 – Celebrating Stories, Creativity & Imagination.

Your local library is delighted to welcome a fantastic line-up of authors and illustrators for Children’s Book Festival 2025, part of the national Right to Read initiative. All events  promise to inspire, entertain, and spark creativity in young readers of all ages.

This year’s programme features:

  • Síne Quinn – author of The Faerie Isle, brings magical storytelling and creative workshops for children aged 8+.
  • Kevin Moran – creator of The Doomsday Club, delivers thrilling tales packed with mystery and adventure.
  • Sadhbh Devlin – award-winning author who will host engaging workshops as Gaeilge, celebrating Irish language and culture.
  • Erika McGann – known for her spooky and fun stories, sure to captivate curious minds.
  • Alan Nolan – illustrator and author whose energetic sessions blend humour, drawing, and storytelling.
  • Natasha Mac a’ Bhaird – brings heartfelt stories and relatable characters to life for young readers.
  • Niamh Donnellan – shares her imaginative tales with warmth and creativity.
  • Margaret Anne Suggs – acclaimed illustrator whose workshops explore visual storytelling and artistic expression.

With events taking place across library branches in Kilkenny and beyond, the festival offers something for everyone—from budding writers and artists to enthusiastic readers.
