Christmas at the Carnegie

Tuesday 13th of December will be a day of celebration of the Carnegie Library, John’s Quay Kilkenny.  The day’s programme will include:

  • Story-telling with Liz Weir (pre-booked schools event)

Open events, with no booking required are as follows:

  • a performance by guitarist Mark Anthony McGrath featuring music from his new album ‘Carolan’ (12.45 to 2.30pm)
  • afternoon theatre with a celebration of Patrick Kavanagh by Jimmy Rhatigan (3.00 to 4.00pm)
  • a talk on Andrew Carnegie and his “Gospel of Wealth” by historian Dr Mary Muldowney (4.30 to 5.30pm)
  • a short Carnegie reminiscence by Gerry Moran, and special guest appearance by Pauline McLynn (6.00pm onwards)

Events are first-come-first-served and light festive refreshments will be served from the afternoon. Drop in during the day and enjoy this Christmas at the Carnegie!
