Right to Read

The Right to Read Literacy Programme is a National Initiative developed as part of  Our Public Libraries 2022. It is designed to bring local literacy supports, knowledge and experienced skilled staff in local authority services and local agencies together ,and increase the reach and impact of literacy resources and supports.

Kilkenny Right to Read Network consists of:

  • Kilkenny Library Service
  • Kilkenny Education Centre
  • Kilkenny Childcare Committee
  • Carlow Kilkenny ETB Adult Literacy Section
  • Kilkenny County Council Community Section

An annual action plan is prepared each year, and includes Spring into Storytime, Summer Stars, Children's Book Festival and Family time at your Library, along with a range of other school and early learning centre resources and supports.
