Poetry Day Ireland 2023 will take place on Thursday 27 April. Now in its ninth year, Poetry Day Ireland is an annual island-wide celebration of poetry which invites the nation to read, write, and share a poem on the day. All are welcome to get involved, with participation encouraged from artists, venues, schools, hospitals, community groups, poetry-lovers, and more.
To mark Poetry Day, library staff have teamed up with local nursing homes to deliver a simple poetry workshop. This takes place at Tinnypark, Kilkenny on Monday April 24thth at 2.30pm. Participants will enjoy some well-known poems from the past, work on rhyming exercises, and design their own Spring Poem.
Families and friends are welcome on the day. More information from Laura Bolger 056 7771550 & Caitríona 056 7794162
